About
Me and the blood python My name is Péter Siklós. I live in Hungary near the capital, Budapest. Loving reptiles might be inheritable If someone  grows up in a herping family but it was not the case for me as my parents had no interest in reptiles. But as an urban kid I was fortunate enough to spend summer holidays close to nature and probably that was the time I got injected for the rest of my life.  I was killing most times by fishing alone or with friends and when no fish was willing to bite I was discovering the wildlife along the shore.
First I just catched native reptiles and amphibians for fun and after studing them for a while I let them go.
Years went by and I made more and more attempts to care about these field collected later than purchased herps, so except some off period during my teenage years   I was after reptiles all my life as a serious hobbist. Actually I loved all kind of herps but snakes were definetly my favorites.

Right before my recent reptile period I used to keep and breed venomous snakes for about 10 years.        It was really a passion but when my son was born we lived in an appartment where it was impossible to safely separate my venomous collection, so I made a painful decision and sold them all.
But life can not be complete without snakes so it was the time to look for something new.

Blood pythons were always fascinating me and challenging enough to arise my interest. Shortly after buying the firs babies I knew I found something that would determinate my future in herping. I do not like hanging human terms on animals but I have never worked such as "intelligent" and rewarding snakes as blood and short-tailed pythons are. If you are open minded enough these mysterious pythons will give you the possibility to build a particular relationship with them.

In 2002 We moved to a small town near Budapest. Since that time I have only beeen focusing on these pythons and nowdays I work with a fairly large collection, and run numerous breeding projects.

(Oh man, I feel like it is getting too long I doubt that anybody will read it)

If you asked me why a guy for snakes chooses geckos the the answer is simple, I spent a long time on the legless side and again I really needed some herps with legs. Similarly to blood pythons crested geckos are polymorphic as well, so besides their lovely look and easy maintaince they are really exiting to breed as you never know the result. Recently I have been working with many different morphs and refining several projects.
